What I'm Doing...

What is it with people’s obsession with my sex life?!  All I ever heard when I was pregnant with my 3rd boy was;

‘Nevermind, you can always try again to get your girl!’

‘Blimey,’ I felt like saying,  ‘Is it ok if I give birth to this one first?!’

Much to everyones surprise I wasn’t disappointed when yet another set of  boy bits showed up on my 5 month scan.  I kind of had a feeling, and my eldest had already declared girls were yukky, so it suited us all.

It was everyone else’s reactions that threw me, ‘maybe next time’ seemed to be their favourite phrase.

Next time?!  I thought!  After the three sickest pregnancies, and my last labour from hell, those two words were definitely not in my vocabulary.

It’s now been 7 months since my littlest man was born and I’ve realised why I keep having babies…  I love them!

Their cute little laugh when you pick them up, the cheesy grin they give you when they’re up to no good, the way they think it’s hilarious to play tug of war with your hair!… the list is endless.

So maybe after my initial reaction of never again,  I might just change my mind in the future, and regardless of what everyone else thinks, whether it’s a little princess or another to add to my growing football team, I will be very happy indeed!

    Hi, I found you from BMB :) I never get why people have to make comments like that. As long as your children are healthy does it actually matter on their gender, is one better than the other? I have a girl and a boy and I know my Girl is going to be hard work!

    I just learnt to ignore all the comments. I was just so happy I ended up with another baby that was just perfect to me!
    It makes you wonder if boys or girls are harder work you saying that…. theres so many people that say boys are harder, then others that say girls!…. all my 3 boys are hard work to say the least, stubborn isn’t even the word! You can tell they take after me lol!

  • Three (or four) boys will have an amazing time growing up together – ignore all ignorant comments…Over from BMB too.

    Thanks very much for saying that. I love my boys loads and wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s just a horrible feeling knowing other people are disappointed! Why they think its anything to do with them though is beyond me!

    Hi! you just started following me on Twitter.I have one boy aged 7 and two girls aged 4 and 20 months, boys are much easier. We thought and hoped DD2 would be a boy, but it doesn’t matter about what they between their legs as long as they are healthy.

    Thanks for the follow Aly, and I totally agree. At the end of the day whether boy or girl they’re a part of you.

  • Again, fab read. very honest and funny. I’m in awe of women that have more than one child. I have the cutest two year old but being a single mummy now, it’s been the toughest job of my life. So well done to you (even if you are married, it’s still tough job)
    Warmest regards

    Thanks very much for your comment. I think single parents are miracle workers managing on their own, so well done! If everyone with children is honest its really hard work but totally worth it …. can’t say I usually think that when mine are having full blown tantrums though lol!
